If you’re like me, skin is always first and makeup comes second! But when I am finally ready for a full face of glam, I’m always sure to prep my skin really well before makeup application.
I typically wash my face, tone and then apply my moisturizers and serums. It’s always better to make sure you have a clean pallet to apply your makeup on. It will go on smoother and look a lot more professional!
Once I’m done with all of that, I follow with my glowy creams & primers! One of my two favorites right now is the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops!
I typically apply these right after a sunscreen and a primer + setting sprays. The primer pictured above does have SPF 15, but I like to apply a stronger one underneath that just to be sure I’m protecting my skin well.
I love how this product gives you such a natural glow! Even if you haven’t been keeping up with your daily water intake or maybe your skin hasn’t been exfoliated so it’s a little dull. You still can step out looking hydrated, dewy and refreshed! I do avoid using this over my foundation because I noticed it can smear a bit!
Secondly, let me tell you all about this primer! I became an HOURGLASS lover a few years ago because they have great shades for women with olive skin tones. It’s always been a challenge to find a good shade for me because I can easily look really yellow or orange.
With that being said, it was easy to try some of more of their makeup products. The HOURGLASS Veil Primer pictured above is a great place to start as far as makeup prep goes! I do the primer first and secondly set + prep with a really good setting spray!
When I use those products to prep the skin before foundation, my makeup literally will not move!! I use the setting spray throughout my makeup process also to make sure I’m keeping each layer of makeup in place.
One thing to keep in mind with my recommendations is differences of skin types. My skin type is combination in the summer and in the winter it’s very dry! These products may work diffrently on sensitve or oily skin types.
